A Step Up Career Academy Center is seeking 2 qualified Floater/Teacher Assistants for our daycare facility. Candidates will be working with the ages of 6 weeks old to 12 years old. Candidates must have at least 1 year of work experience in a daycare center.
****THESE ARE PERMANENT POSITIONS WITH FULL-TIME WORK HOURS**** The available shifts for these positions would be 7:30 am - 4:30 pm and 9:30 am - 6:30 pm.****
Please read the qualifications below:- - Candidate will be floating from classrooms to provide coverage when a teacher is absent or has planned vacation days.
- - Candidate will also assist the classrooms that only have 1 teacher.
- - Candidate should have experience working with children from 6 weeks to 12 years old.
- -Candidate will be fully trained in all 7 classrooms.
- - Candidate should have experience nurturing children and excellent communication skills with parents.
- -Candidate must be able to interact with different age groups.
- -Candidate must be able to change diapers and potty train.
- - Candidate must be a sensitive and mature individual who is able to relate well to both children and adults.
- - Candidate must be able to adapt to change.
- - Candidate must be able to meet DCFS requirements.
- - Candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- DCFS REQUIRED TRAINING: Mandated Reporter, SIDS, Shaken Baby, Trauma Informed Care, Child Development, Health and Safety Basics & Food Handler.
- -Floater Teacher must have at least 33 college credit hours with six credits (2 classes) in early childhood education or child development.

- NAEYC Accredited
Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in managing classroom activities and maintaining a positive learning environment.
- Support children’s development through engaging in educational activities and play.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to foster a collaborative atmosphere.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of children, adhering to SIDS Certification guidelines.
- Help implement lesson plans and assist with curriculum development as needed.
- Provide care and support for children with diverse needs, including those with disabilities.
